As the countdown to the 2026 World Cup begins, alongside prediction markets, the sports collectibles market is also heating up.

For the trading card market, the World Cup is more than just a sporting event; it is a window for a concentrated release of trading sentiment for player cards, limited editions, and sports collectibles. In fact, trading cards are not a niche market. Within the Web2 world, sports cards, Pokémon cards, and various collectible cards have already formed a multi-billion dollar trading and collecting ecosystem.

Recently, Odaily observed that MarketCards is attempting to bring these real-world collectible assets onto the blockchain, allowing rare cards not only to be displayed and collected but also to participate in subscription, trading, and on-chain pricing.

On June 4, MarketCards announced the launch of its first MintBox subscription event. This is a primary issuance event for on-chain assets centered around rare physical cards. The platform will make the tokenized rights corresponding to 68 1:1 rare sports cards, which it has personally procured, 100% publicly available to all participants.

MarketCards is an on-chain asset platform for real collectible cards, with its core direction being the tokenization of physical collectibles like sports cards and rare cards. Previously, such card assets primarily circulated within offline collecting circles or Web2 trading platforms, suffering from limited trading reach, fragmented pricing, and insufficient liquidity. MarketCards aims to bring real card assets into a more transparent and liquid on-chain trading system through on-chain rights verification, public issuance, and secondary market trading.

MintBox, the current subscription event, is the first public issuance mechanism for Tokenized Interests launched by MarketCards. Simply put, when a card or a set of cards is tokenized on the platform, it becomes available for subscription by all users via MintBox, with corresponding rights distributed according to public and verifiable rules.

Step-by-Step Guide to Participating in MintBox Subscription

Currently, the MintBox subscription event has progressed over 70%, with total value of Tickets sold exceeding $210,000 USD. Below, Odaily provides a step-by-step guide on how to participate in the subscription.

STEP 1: Go to the MarketCards official website (link: https://market.cards/home), and click “Log in” in the top right corner to log into your personal account using a Web3 wallet.

STEP 2: As shown in the image below, deposit funds by adding USDC (on the Base chain).

STEP 3: After depositing funds, click “VIEW MINTBOX DETAIL” to participate in the first MintBox subscription.

STEP 4: Enter the quantity of Tickets to purchase. Each Ticket costs 10 USDC.

MintBox Allocation Method

1. Purchase a Ticket and receive a number. Users get 1 Ticket for every 10 USDC spent. Each Ticket has a unique 4-digit number (e.g., 2727), randomly generated by the system upon purchase and displayed immediately. Additionally, each Ticket records the generation time, which serves as the basis for ranking within the same group.

2. Obtain the Draw Factor number. After the subscription ends, the platform will take the Binance BTC/USDC spot price at June 8, 00:00 UTC, retain two decimal places, and sequentially extract the tens digit, units digit, first decimal digit, and second decimal digit to form a 4-digit Draw Factor. For example, if the BTC price is 77,795.60, then the tens digit is 9; the units digit is 5; the first decimal digit is 6; the second decimal digit is 0, resulting in a Draw Factor of 9560.

3. Compare user Tickets with the Factor digit by digit. The 4-digit number on a user’s Ticket is compared against the Draw Factor. Digits in the exact same position count as a “match.” The more matching positions, the higher the winning tier. For example, if the Draw Factor is 9560 and the user’s Ticket is 3560, the last three digits match, resulting in a 3/4 match.

4. Rank user Tickets. First, sort by the number of matching digits (4/4 > 3/4 > 2/4 > 1/4 > 0/4). Within the same matching tier, sort by subscription time (earlier is higher).

5. Receive the corresponding Box number based on Ticket ranking. There are 30,000 Boxes in this round. Tickets ranked 1st to 30,000th receive the corresponding Box in order. The 1st ranked Ticket obtains Box #1, the 2nd obtains Box #2, and so on. (Tickets ranked 30,001st or lower are considered unsuccessful, and the corresponding subscription amount can be manually claimed back by the user after the results are announced.)

MintBox offers a Lucky Digit mechanism. For every successful referral who participates in this round and purchases at least 100 USDC, the referrer receives 1 Lucky Digit. Each Ticket can have a maximum of 3 Lucky Digits. The digit upgraded to a Lucky Digit no longer needs to match; any number from 0 to 9 is considered a hit for that position.

Furthermore, Lucky Digits are only awarded to the referrer and are applied sequentially based on the Ticket generation time. The unlocking order is fixed: 1st position, 2nd position, 3rd position, while the 4th position always remains an exact match position.
