This integration enables 100 MB/s of data throughput, improving Rollup scalability and performance.

This collaboration aims to address a core issue facing Rollups: efficient data availability. Rollups need to publish transaction data to ensure the chain’s state is verifiable and remains valid. The traditional approach is to publish data directly to Ethereum’s Layer 1, but this approach is costly and has scalability limitations.

By adopting an independent data availability layer (DA Layer) rather than relying entirely on Ethereum Layer 1, Rollup can reduce costs while improving performance, expanding the application space, and enabling blockchain to achieve scalable development while balancing security and decentralization. Caldera CEO Matthew Katz “We are excited to integrate EigenDA V2 into the Caldera Rollup Engine, bringing even greater scalability to our partner projects. EigenDA: Infrastructure for the Future of Blockchain EigenDA is a next-generation data availability (DA) solution inspired by Danksharding, but without the need for a separate consensus mechanism. This innovative approach enables EigenDA to leverage the inherent decentralized trust of the Ethereum network, backed by the robust economic security of millions of dollars in re-staked ETH.

This solution offers several unique advantages in the highly competitive field of data availability:

Bandwidth guarantee and fixed cost : EigenDA is the only DA solution that provides data reservation, which ensures that Rollup obtains guaranteed bandwidth at a fixed cost. This predictability is critical for enterprise-level applications and high-throughput scenarios. Large-Scale Performance Verification : EigenDA’s capabilities are not theoretically tested, but rather validated in real-world environments. The Eigen team successfully published the real-time chain states of all Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchains to EigenDA, demonstrating the platform’s performance. Seamless integration through the Caldera platform EigenDA V2 will be available as a one-click option when deploying a new Rollup in the Caldera console.
