The Moca Foundation announced that it will launch Moca Chain, a Layer 1 blockchain built specifically for identity and user data. Moca Chain will support the development of identity protocols in various industry scenarios, enabling individuals, devices, and AI agents to autonomously control, integrate, and verify their digital credentials without relying on centralized platforms. At the same time, by integrating with consumer applications, it will accelerate the user-centric, privacy-preserving growth model. The Moca Chain testnet and mainnet are expected to be launched in the third and fourth quarters of 2025, respectively.

Moca Chain will enable on-chain and off-chain user data to be verified in any on-chain application through decentralized data storage, cross-chain identity oracles, zero-knowledge generation of web data (zkTLS) and on-chain verification functions. The chain will operate as a modular, EVM-compatible blockchain with the ability to interoperate with other chains, providing identity and data layer services for partners and adopters. Moca Chain will use MOCA Coin as the core token to pay for gas fees, validator staking, storage, oracle services, data generation and verification fees.

Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, said: Today, billions of users access the Internet through single sign-on (SSO), which actually holds the key to their data, services and digital life. Although convenient, SSO also poses a centralized single point of failure risk, which not only threatens security but also enables platforms to over-extract users digital value. Moca Chain aims to solve this problem by returning data sovereignty to users through decentralized means, ensuring the independence and security of users digital identities.

He further pointed out: “Combined with the AIR Kit launched by Moca Network, Moca Chain is building a digital ecosystem where users truly own their data, reputation and contributions. Moca Chain will work with Moca Networks AIR Kit, a global account, identity and reputation software development kit (SDK). Developers can use AIR Kit to build rich functional applications with smart accounts and verifiable credentials, and its modular permission mechanism also helps to create more user-friendly products.
